Chameleons
Chameleons is an experienced barn dance / ceilidh band based in the Oxford area.
Chameleons has a flexible line-up, drawn from the membership of top Festival dance band, Geckoes. The five-piece Geckoes line-up (plus caller and sound engineer) is often too much for smaller local events where space for the band, time to set up, and perhaps money, are at a premium.
Chameleons evolved to fill this gap. With just three musicians plus caller, and a small, quickly assembled PA system, Chameleons could be the perfect choice for Weddings, PTAs, Scouts, Guides, Tennis Clubs, Birthday parties etc. etc.
The usual line-up is drawn from:
Andy Cheyne - acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle
Andy Turner - anglo-concertina
Tom Miller - guitar, keyboard, mandolin, mandola
with Caroline Butler - caller, fiddle
However Chameleons is designed to be a flexible band, and this line-up may vary - we have worked with many other good local musicians over the years, including John Spiers (before he was famous!), Dave Townsend, Heather Horsley, Jonathan Leach, Joe Turner and Dick Wolff.
Other callers who work regularly with Chameleons include:
Alan Simpson
Will Hall
Mike Courthold
Chris Pitt
