Dave Parry 1948-2012

This page is dedicated to Dave Parry: founder member of Geckoes, melodeon-player, singer, morris dancer, historian, archivist, bibliophile, and - above all - our friend.

Dave was diagnosed with cancer of the brain towards the end of 2010, and passed away on 30th March 2012. Throughout his illness Dave managed to retain his good humour; and we were delighted that, despite his declining health, he was able to play with Geckoes at some of our 25th anniversary gigs in 2011.

His funeral was held at his local village church, St James the Great at East Hanney. The church was absolutely packed with friends and family; following the service the church became the venue for a wake, with plenty of food, two barrels of real ale, and a music session. He will be deeply missed by many.
